It was such a blessing and an honor to have met you and Justine at the Borders in Tampa for the book signing. The anointing upon you both was so evident not to mention the humility. I don't think you realize what type of impact you have on people. Its amazing that you take the time to not only allow the world to see your lives unfold but to embrace us when met in person. My 4 sons spoke about you the whole way home. Many continued blessings to your whole family the book is great a very encouraging. Thank you for taking the time to write this and for being real on every level.

I am not believing these last two comments!! Have you ever REALLY WATCHED THE RUN'S HOUSE SHOW? Listen, I am white, and i I had just half the family that Rev and Justine had. I would be at the very least Blessed. Let me tell you. I have teen age kids from 18 down to 13 and it is not easy at all. These kids are "together" mentally, financially minded, sociable and so much more. It had to come from great parenting. And I commend not just the parents, but the kids for not "doing their own thing", but listening heart and soul to advice from their well rounded parents. Hard thing to come by in these days. How many kids do you know that argue and then turn around and apologize to each other? How many kids do you know are REALLY listened to and consoled by their parents? They give the kids great advice. That is what makes these Simmon kids who they are!! They are very intuitive...."Do you know what that even means?". Bet your bottom dollar they all do!! How many kids do you know can put together clothing lines, fashion lines, music groups. And do it all in a non racist mind set. God Bless this family. Keep up the Fantastic Work. Your all hillarious. I love you all!! You make me a huge fan, and now even my kids!!
God's Richest Blessings,
Angeldeb

Thank you Simmons Family from the bottom of my heart! I finished reading the book about a week ago and I must say it brought great joy to my heart. I found it to be very uplifting and a guideling light for the way I hope to someday raise a family. It also sheds light on what a marriage should be and how I hope to someday be with a man that God sent just for me. Besides, if you don't take care fo each other then you definitely can't take care of your children. This book made me laugh out loud, cry out loud and most of all thank God out loud! Please keep sharing & God Bless!

Just left your signing here in Michigan. I was speechless. I mean that by saying Justine is sooo beautiful. Rev you are so down to earth & humble. I love your sense of humor. I hope your kids thank God everyday for the parents they have because for one second I wish I could've had what they have when I was a kid. Thankfully, Russell continued after MTV to put this positivity on TV. Furthermore, thank you for sharing your love & wisdom. I almost cried when I hugged Jus because I felt the love & appreciation she had for the public even being there. Rev you are a ROLE MODEL for father's everywhere. Rev you are a mentor, father & brother. Rev & Jus you look so happy for what you do. You are very much serving as Sheppard's. May God continue to Bless you from your Crowns to the Souls of your feet. You are true examples of what God has in store for ALL HIS CHILDREN. That's Love, Peace & Happiness. After meeting your family today it made me look @ my own family & redirect some things in my life. Thank you for being my light @ the ending of the tunnel.

Hey Rev Run, My name is Darius. I am a really, really, big fan. I'm from Boston and I love your show and your CD Distortion was great. You really rocked it on that one. You're my favorite rapper and when I heard you were coming to Boston I almost fainted. Well anyway when you came to the book signing I gave you and Mrs. Simmons a card with me and my family's phone number in it. I hope to hear from you because we really want to get to meet you and your family and maybe even become friends. God bless and Peace

I just wanted to say I had the pleasure of meeting you and your family at the book signing in philly, willow grove on the 22nd. It was a real pleasure. I also wanted to thank Justine for telling my daughter that she liked her heart necklace and that she was dressed like Angela would dressed. After we left barnes and nobel she called everyone she could think of to tell them what Justine had said. She wished she had recorded it. I love you guys soooo much....THANKS

Rev Run, Justine, I am so proud of you and your family. I live in the same are that you live in, I have one daughter and elder parents mother who is 78 and father who is 84, and very blessed to have them in my daughters life.they get up and go when and where they want. I agree so much with your parenting styles, I just realized.... that your show and other reality family shows ( african american) such as Dion Sanders ya'll have changed the image of black fathers with their children. my daughters dad is very involved with her, we are not together as a couple but we are co-parents.. I tell my daughter quite often your dad is a good man. Thanks so much for sharing your gifts and blessing with us.

Thank you for representing what I know to be a 'typical' family. I am 47 yrs. old, and your family is so reminicent of how I was raised. I too, was blessed with parents who were strict enough to set rules, but liberal enough to let us feel comfortable and confident to come to them about anything going on in our lives. I bought the book yesterday and enjoyed every word thus far.

Rev Run and Justine, you are such an inspiration to me and my family.
What happened to the August 21 date in Atlanta for the book tour? I do not see that listed on this page. Please advise.
God Bless

Rev Run,

I just adore you and your family and love your show. I watch it over and over again. It makes me feel as if i'm there with you all. And Justine makes no difference in any of the children. What a blessing. You've shown us how you do it in da club but you haven't shown us how you praise God in church. I have seen you being counseled with your Bishop though. We want to see you and your family in church. We know you love the Lord but can you show us how you worship or will they not air that? Can't wait to get your book.

In Christ

Comment:
An icon of hip-hop, a father of six and an ordained minister, Rev Run has developed a parenting stile that is in a class by itself. With his wife Justine, he launched the blockbuster reality series Run's House on MTV, now filming its fifth season. The show has proven wildly popular in large part due to the way the Simmons family response to very twenty-first century issues. Emphasizing firm boundaries, noble values, discipline, and faith in age marked by shallow materialism and fragmented families, Rev Run now shares the proven principles that have given his children a firm foundation, including:
  • Run your family as the COE's Chief Officers of Everything
  • Understand that you can never correct wheat you did not confront
  • Lead by example, not by preaching: Hypocrisy and parenting are a destructive combination.
  • Today's fast-paced world can often make children feel small; your job is to help them feel large.
  • Older children need more rules and parental involvement, not less.
Reaching and average weekly audience of 4.1 million viewers, Run's House speaks to America's fascination with high-profile parents. Take Back Your Family brings home the behind-the-scenes wisdom of hip-hop's first family to everyone seeking solid guidance for raising a new generation.
